Owner and Head Trainer

I started training dogs in 1991.  Before training dogs , I was a horse trainer and Photographer.  Dog training and Horse training have very similar teaching methodology.
I started training dogs in 1991 when I had a naughty Golden retriever that I wanted to be able to have at the barn with me.  This training got me interested in the world of dog obedience.  My Golden was my Novice A dog and went on to place in Many National Obedience competitions and when Agility first became a sport we started to play in that too.

I went on to train and compete my own dogs in Obedience, Rally and Agility over the years.  My breeds have included Golden Retrievers, Flat coated Retrievers , Greyhound, Malinois,  Pembroke Corgi,  Swedish Valhund, border collies and Shelties  Over the years they have earned hundreds of titles,  200's, countless High in Trial, High Combined and High Triple awards.  Multiple OTCH's, RACH's, MACH's and ADCH's.  We have won  and place multiple National competitions across the country including National Obedience Championships, Rally Nationals, Agility Nationals, Cynopsports World Games and more.

My philosophy is not a cookie cutter approach.  I believe every dog team is different, and what work for some dogs, may not work for others.  I want competitions to be a fun sport you do with your dogs, so I do alot of motivational training using toys, treats and praise.   But I do believe you need a solid behavioral foundation in order to enjoy these mostly off leash sports.  Your dog is first a member of your family, and they should be a well behaved pet.  Only then can they enjoy training the fun sports when working with you is their primary goal.

I believe in building a solid team work foundation where the dog focuses on the handler and the handler is willing to train the dog in the manner that the dog needs in order to succeed.
