Clever K9’s training foundation comes from 30 years of Dog Training Experience, training thousands of dogs, all breeds, ages, and sizes.  Clever K9 Dog Training LLC started over 17 years ago in New Jersey.  Many of our family pets that we have helped trained have gone on to be Canine Good Citizens, Therapy dogs, service dogs, local and National Obedience, Agility, Rally, Scent Work, and other sport Champions. At Clever K9, we teach you how to speak dog Language. Dog owners often find it difficult to relate to dogs without humanizing them. Our dogs are our family, but we need to communicate with them In a language that makes sense to them. There is a lot of research and theories on dog behavior. At Clever K9 we not only look at this research , but apply the years of behavioral experience we have to design a training plan that works for your dog and your family.

When we reinforce behavior we like and put consequences to behaviors we want to extinguish, this helps the dog understand what we are looking for. Dogs use body language to communicate with each other, in addition to visual and vocal behaviors. As dog trainers, we need to make sure we communicate to them with methods that make sense to them. Most behaviors can be linked back to pack behaviors, and issues within the pack. (yes, your family is their pack) Many bad behaviors can be improved by improving the pack dynamics.

Dogs are social animals and most want to please their owners in order to achieve what they want, anything from petting and loving from you, a treat, a toy or play. We use these to help train your dog based on their individual needs. Every dog and family is different, our training method is not a cookie cutter corporate approach, but personalized training tailored for you and your dog. No packages and long term contract required.
